IDFC First Bank presented the second edition of the Mangaluru Triathlon as part of the Tapasya Beach Festival organized by Tapasya Foundation on February 18 at Tannirbhavi Beach Mangaluru Surf Club. The three-day Tapasya Beach Festival was held from February 16 to 18 and was supported by Lions Club International Foundation. The Department of AYUSH in association with Yenepoya AYUSH and other AYUSH institutions also organized a general health check-up camp during the event.

Dr. Mrudula KS, Associate Professor-Stage 1, Department of Prasooti Tantra and Streeroga, YAMCH, has been awarded the best paper at the National Seminar on Dermatology and Cosmetology "Tvakshuddhi 2023" held on 9 December 2023 at Muniyal Institute of Ayurveda Medical Sciences, Manipal.

Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital has organized an institutional level 5th National Ayurveda Day programme on the eve of Dhanvantari Divas on 12th November 2020.   On the occasion of Aati Amavasya (Karkataka Amavasya/Bheemana Amavasya) on 20/07/2020, Dravyaguna in association with Rasa Shastra & Bhaishya Kalpana Department of Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Mangalore arranged distribution of Hale Kashaya (Decoction prepared from the fresh bark of Alstonia Scholaris)  to the patients and Staff. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. C V Raghuveer,  Pro. Vice Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University. Dr. Gururaja H, Principal, Dr. K Lakshmeesha Upadhya, Medical Superintendent and faculty members were present.           The consumption of bitter juice of bark of  Hale Mara (Sapthaparna) adding spicy ingredients in empty stomach on new moon day of Juy/August is said to have the power to ward of all the health problems for a year till next Aati Amavasya. Nutritious receipt of fenugreek (Menthe Ganji) is advised after consumption of the decoction. This traditional ritual is believed to be having the action of securing the individual from unwanted stomach ailments there by boosting the body immunity.   

  Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Deralakatte, Mangalore launched Ayush Qwatha manufactured from the Department of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana on 03/07/2020 in the college premises in the presence of      Dr. C V Raghuveer, Pro. Vice Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Principal, Medical Superintendent and all the faculty members.           The Ayush Qwatha is prepared as per the Guidelines of Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi which is indicated to Boost the immune system in term promote health of the society during the period of Covid-19 pandemic. The Qwatha Choorna contains the ingredients Tulasi (Holy Basil) 4 parts, Dalchini (Cinnamon) 2 parts, Shunti (Dry Ginger) 2 parts, Maricha (Pepper) 1 part. ¼ spoon of powder is taken in a cup and 1 glass of hot water should be added and consumed trice per day.           The Qwatha Choorna will be distributed to all the employees of  the constituent Institutions of Yenepoya University, all the Covid warriors and asymptomatic Covid-19 positive cases and also the people on quarantine.

Awareness programme was conducted at Al-Madeena school, Manjanady on 29/01/2020 on behalf of “National Cervical Cancer awareness month” and “National Breast Cancer awareness month”. Two awareness sessions were conducted by the doctors of Department of Prasuti tantra and Stree roga, Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Manglore. Awareness was given on the following topics: 1.      Breast Cancer, causes, symptoms and Preventive measures – by Dr.Mrudula.KS 2.      Cervical cancer, causes, symptoms and preventive measures – by Dr.Hafsa. P AhamedAround 50 teachers actively participated and obtained benefit from the programme.

  A Free health camp was conducted for public in co-ordination with Sri Dhanwantaram Vaidyashala Ullal and Yenepoya Health Center Kankanady, a branch of Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital Naringana. Inaguration was at 10 am and camp started same time. Free medicines were also dispensed. On September 3rd, 2019, an awareness programme was conducted at Hira women’s Pre University college, Babbukatte, Mangalore. The awareness programme was conducted on account of National Nutritional week by the departments of Kayachikitsa , Swasthavrutta and Yoga ,Prasoothi tantra and stree roga of Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital,Naringana.       The event began with invocation, welcome address, followed by the informative sessions by the doctors of respective departments. Awareness was given on the following topics: 1.     Nutrition for Healthy Living – by Dr Supriya S 2.     Diet Regimen – by Dr Shilpa.K 3.     Diet and adolescent problem – by Dr Mrudula  Around 300 students actively participated and obtained benefit from the programme.  

Wound care awareness programme was conducted at Kunil Higher Secondary English  Medium school on 28.06.2019.The programme started at 1.15pm and ended by 2.30pm.Awareness talk regarding different types of wounds,prevention and general principles of wound management was given to the students and staffs by Dr.Durgaprasad A.V,Assistant Professor,Department of  Shalya Tantra,Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital.An interacive session was held  regarding primary wound care post to the lecture. Duration of the session: 1 hour and 15 minutes

Food and Diet for Asthama patients – Dr Priya PradeepFollowing the first deliberation the second health talk was by Dr Priya Pradeep. She spoke on various kinds of food thet aggravate Asthama, food that has to be taken during asthama, do’s and dont’s for an Asthama patient in relation to food. Various food recipes for Asthama and their role in controlling and curing asthama, relation between food and medicine in Asthama. Age wise advice of food in Asthama etc were elaborately explained in Kannada language. The talk was well understood and appreciated by the audience.After the health talk medical camp was conducted that includes general health check up, asthama check up (interrogation, auscultation, BP recording) for 12 patients. Dr Nisha, Dr Athulya, Dr Priya Pradeep, Dr Shilpa conducted the health  camp. Patients were well educated about the theme and motivated to come to YAMC campus for further authenticated treatment.         On the Occasion of World Oral Health Day 2019, an awareness programme was held in Xavier's degree college Asaigoli on 02-05-2019. The programme commenced at 10.30 am and concluded at 11.30 am. Total students attended were 160. The topic addressed to the students were as follows: 1. Importance of world oral health day2. Importance of oral health 3. Causes for oral diseases4. Specific causes mentioned in Ayurveda 4. Smoking and oral disorders5. Oral Cancer 6. Tips to quit smoking7.  school Health Programme DEPARTMENT OF KAUMARABHRITYA.   A school health programme was conducted at Yenepoya Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital Naringana on 29/11/2018. 25 students of primary school and 2 teachers from D.G Katte Govt. school attended. The activities held in the programme were as follows: 1)     Awareness about health 2)    Interaction with students regarding personal hygiene 3)    Importance of nutritious food 4)    General health check-up was done 5)    The programme concluded with a Health drink to students and teachers.     ·        Awareness regarding Health was done by Dr. Supriya (Asst.professor & consultant, Dept of Swastavrutta) ·        Regarding children’s health was done by Dr. Almas Tarannum (Asst.  professor & consultant, Dept of Kaumarabhritya) ·        Health check up By Dr. Mrudula (Asst. professor & consultant, Dept of  Prasootitantra and streeroga) ·        Dr.Shilpa (Asst. professor & consultant, Dept of Kayachikitsa), Dr.Pooja (RMO), Dr.Chaitra (RMO), Mr. Anwar and Mr.Mustaq were organised the camp.

  CAMP SUMMARY With the Motto of creating awareness about Ayurveda treatment to the general public and its effectiveness, a mega camp was conducted.
